The human genome encodes about 400 odorant G protein-coupled receptors. Our knowledge on the mechanisms by which this receptors enable us to smell is still incomplete. A team of researchers from USA, composed of neurobiologists, chemists and computational scientsts have investigated this issue. The study shows high-resolution view on odorant-receptor chemical recognition.
